Interested in finding out more on my MMORPG? Read on. But please note, I'm not sure how the new Konfuze engine will turn out until it's done, so some of my plans below will more than likely change.
Question 1: What type of MMORPG will CombatCity be?
Answer: Most people assume that all MMORPG games have to have a Middle Ages setting, and involve magic and swords and slaying dragons and junk like that. No they don't.
My game will be in 2D and will take place in a city, as the name implies. As my FR site has a fighting game theme to it, my game will become a fighting game/RPG hybrid. More specifically, a beat-em-up/RPG game.
The story will be pretty basic; you choose your character's class, then their gender, then their hair, skin, and clothing colors. You can also choose their hair and clothing styles. For example, if you choose a female character, you can choose to have her be white, black, Asian, Native American, etc., and have her wear a long skirt, mini-skirt, shorts, pants, tank top, tube top, t-shirt, long sleeves, short hair, medium hair, long hair, ponytail, or pigtails, and you can choose between at least 6 different colors for each. So you can develop an almost unlimited amount of character combinations.
In the game, you can find, win, or buy equipment to boost your stats. They will consist of items like weapons, pants, shirts, belts, head gear, wrist gear, and foot gear or various types. More on these later.
Question 2: What classes will the game contain.
Answer: Mostly Beat-em-up cliches; the street fighting brawler, a martial artist, and.. you guessed it, a wrestler. How could I leave wrestlers out of a fighting game? Every fighting game has a wrestler of some kind. It's an unwritten rule.
Some pieces of equipment can only be worn by certain classes, while others can be used by all three.
More to come at a later date.
Question 3: What kind of things can you do in this game?
Answer: Trade skills are things you can do in pretty much every MMORPG. They include things like mining, fishing, woodcutting, etc.. I have yet to figure out what kind of trade skills can go on in a modern day city. I'll come up with something though. Give me time.
Question 4: Will we have to pay to play this game?
Answer: Hell no. I'm a prick, but not that much of a prick. I'm strongly against forcing people to pay to play MMORPGs. The game and all it's features will be 100% free to download.
